ABSTRACT

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease with a high health, social and economic impact, particularly in the case of Severe Uncontrolled Asthma (SUA). For this reason, new strategies are especially necessary to improve its approach, with a personalized approach to each patient and from a multidisciplinary perspective, in addition to integrating the new telemedicine and telepharmacy practices promoted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, the TEAM 2.0 project ("Work in Multidisciplinary Asthma Teams") has been developed, following the TEAM project carried out in 2019, with the aim of updating and prioritizing good multidisciplinary work practices in SUA in a post pandemic context and analyze the progress made. A coordinating group, made up of eight multidisciplinary teams of hospital pharmacists, pulmonologists, and allergists, carried out an updated bibliographic review, sharing of good multidisciplinary practices, and analysis of advances. Through five regional meetings with other experts with experience in SUA, the good practices identified were shared and subjected to debate, evaluation and prioritization. In total, 23 good multidisciplinary work practices in SUA, grouped into five work areas: 1) Organization of work in multidisciplinary teams, 2) Patient education, self-management and adherence, 3) Health results, data monitoring and persistence, 4) Telepharmacy and experiences implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic and 5) Training and research, were evaluated and prioritized by 57 professionals from the field of Hospital Pharmacy, Pulmonology, Allergology and Nursing. This work has made it possible to update the roadmap of priority actions to continue advancing in optimal models of care for patients with AGNC in a post-COVID-19 context.

ABSTRACT

within the framework of the project "Social Education and COVID-19 in Ibe-ro-America: socio-labor exclusion after the pandemic and good practices for inclusion", this article focuses on intervention practices for labor market insertion from an intercultural perspective. Specifically, it is proposed to assess the interest of identity categories for the mapping of socio-labor intervention and, subsequently, to identify elements that allow the construction of good inclusive practices from the positive recognition of diversity. We have worked with a mixed methodological approach through a questionnaire and an interview, 119 and 17 people respectively, combining the quantitative and qualitative approaches in the anal-ysis. The results reveal the limited usefulness of the proposed categories to describe the target population, except in the case of women, young people and people living in poverty. On the other hand, although the intercultural approach is not explicitly present in the gener-al map of services and centers for socio-labor intervention, there are some very interesting practices that justify the importance of personal and community elements in the intervention processes: self-knowledge, appropriation, work for social justice, cooperation and network building. We propose the necessary continuity of this line of intervention and research

ABSTRACT

The adoption of online learning has been accelerated by COVID-19, including experiential learning such as service-learning (SL). This study compares the student developmental outcomes between the traditional face-to-face and e-service-learning (E-SL) to reveal the effectiveness of E-SL and its good practices. A self-reporting measurement instrument was used to collect and compare the developmental outcomes perceived by students before and after SL experience between the traditional SL and E-SL cohorts of a course with the same setting, including instructor, curriculum, and assessment criteria. Qualitative research methodology is adopted to analyse students' learning artefacts to reveal possible reasons for the differences identified in student developmental outcomes, and good practices derived in E-SL. Results indicate that both traditional SL and E-SL cohorts show significant enhancement in student developmental outcomes after participating in SL. Although there are no significant differences between the two cohorts, E-SL seems to slightly outperform traditional SL in enhancing student developmental outcomes. Qualitative analysis indicates that good practices, such as stakeholders' commitment and students' constant reflection, could be the reasons why the challenges posed by the online environment in E-SL is turned into learning opportunities to students. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

ABSTRACT

Within the socioeconomic and health context generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, many families suffered a restriction in their job opportunities, which had as a consequence that a greater number of people needed to seek social help in shared neighborhood spaces. With the objective of contributing to give an answer to this problem, in the Facultad de Agronomía – UNCPBA, an interdisciplinary extension project named "Optimization of food production, handling and consumption within the family scope, for a better life quality" was carried out, in the following thematic areas: local horticulture production, healthy eating and food handling hygiene. Training theoretical and practical actions were generated with biosafety protocols, in three social food areas of Azul. In 2021 the afore mentioned was greater in one of the spaces. In each meeting, there was a stimulation to acquire new production and consumption habits, through innovative techniques (nursery, vegetable plots, production of sprouts and microgreens), and to implement good manufacturing practices for general food preparation and for preserved food in particular, in order to diversify the ways of consumption and to encourage the entrepreneur spirit. In general terms, the project provided the acquisition of new skills, the exchange of experiences and the multiplier effect on the participants, their families and society in general. Also, consumer education was included regarding the choice of healthy alternatives and the importance of the correct interpretation of nutritional labeling. The project promoted the resilience of those families and the transformation of consumers into "prosumers" (producers/consumers), with entrepreneur profile, seeking feeding optimization and safety of food. © 2022, Asociacion Argentina de Horticultura - ASAHO. ABSTRACT

Teamwork is getting more and more popular in school. It has many advantages that are suitable for the new requirements of the schools of the 21st century and the pandemic situation caused by COVID-19. One of the main challenges of teamwork is the assessment of each individual student. It is not a good practice to assign one and the same mark to all students in the team since their contributions to the work are usually not equal. Therefore, a method for assessing the individual contribution of the students in teamwork should be developed. Such a method is discussed in the paper. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The crisis situation that arose following the Covid-19 emergency gave a decisive impetus to the development of the technological and methodological knowledge that plays a fundamental role in the world of education today and highlighted the urgency of a general rethinking of current teaching and organisational practices. For this to be possible, it is necessary to solicit the sharing of innovative practices, making explicit the knowledge that the school possesses and making its processes transferable. In this contribution we will delve into the study of transformation processes in the educational world and, in parallel, the ways to document them with the aim of sharing transferable organisational solutions among peers, in order to promote, through creative imitation processes, sustainable innovation processes.

ABSTRACT

In addition to its impact on daily and work lives, the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected education delivery. According to UNESCO, nearly 90% of the world's student population has had their learning experiences disrupted by precautions and policies implemented to overcome the spread of the disease. The project 'Home, but not alone: Home, but not alone: Empowering preschool teachers and parents for digital education', a European funded project focused on the exchange of good practices to improve preschool education throughout Europe, will mitigate educational losses by supporting teachers and parents who are the main providers of education for young children. This work describes the actions made to analyse the influence of the pandemic on children and preschools. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Scientific research allows for increasing the knowledge of reality and the phenomena that manifest and evolve in it. Today, research is considered a professional competence, which is mainly developed in university institutions. Day by day, the so-called information society is flooded with research works of all types and qualities. At the same time, there is an increase in the number of annual publications that analyze data and measure intellectual works and their contribution to the scientific heritage of each discipline. A series of indicators are generated based on various parameters such as authors, type of document, language, and keywords, among others. The visualization of these numerous indicators, which vary over time, can be achieved effectively through the use of bibliometric software, which is also renewed in its functionality and features. The following is a study, assisted by systematic and bibliometric review techniques, with the aim of identifying the most widely used bibliometric software and those emerging that serve as a guide and good practice in new bibliometric research to obtain notable and relevant knowledge. The applications "VOSviewer", "CiteSpace" and "Bibliometrix" stand out and tools such as "Scopus API R code", "Covidence", "HistCite", "BICOMB", "EndNote X9.6 Statistical", "Ucinet 6.0", "Tools for Innovation Monitoring", "Profiles Research Networking Software", among others, emerge. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors. ABSTRACT

The past two years have been sadly marked by the worldwide spread of the SARS-Cov-19 pandemic. The first line of defense against this and other pandemic threats is to respect interpersonal distances, use masks, and sanitize hands, air, and objects. Some of these countermeasures are becoming part of our daily lives, as they are now considered good practices to reduce the risk of infection and contagion. In this context, we present Safe Place, a modular system enabled by Internet of Things (IoT) that is designed to improve the safety and healthiness of living environments. This system combines several sensors and actuators produced by different vendors with self-regulating procedures and Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms to limit the spread of viruses and other pathogens, and increase the quality and comfort offered to people while minimizing the energy consumption. We discuss the main objectives of the system and its implementation, showing preliminary results that assess its potentials in enhancing the conditions of living and working spaces. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Many Italian universities had numerous nursing students attending hospital wards for administrating anti SARS-COV 2/COVID-19 vaccines. The training of nursing students was necessary to facilitate good practices, disseminate knowledge about anti SARS-COV 2/COVID-19 vaccines. On 22 December 2021, the Italian National Institute of Health (NIH) created a course that aimed to promote the anti-SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 vaccination strategy in the country, providing the basic skills, tools and technical-scientific contents necessary to guarantee all phases of the vaccination campaign, including the safe administration of vaccines and counteract vaccination hesitation through the involvement and informed participation of health and social health personnel towards the population. The purpose of this paper was to describe the method used by the Sapienza University of Rome in delivering the Italian NIH course nursing students at Italian universities. The research group in charge of delivering the course decided to use the Google Classroom platform. From the 03/02/2022 to 25/03/2022, 3154 students from 46 Italian universities attended the course. This paper represents a clear advantage in the field of e-learning, not only because it describes an effective method for delivering a course to many students but also because it demonstrates how health professions students can be protected while allowing them to continue or restart internships in health facilities more safely and with more awareness. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ABSTRACT

The adoption of restrictive measures aimed at curtailing the spread of SARS-CoV2 has had a harmful impact on socio-affective relationships, while limiting the scope of interventions and activities to promote social inclusion, with considerable negative repercussions for patients with mental disorders. Vaccination has been and will continue to be a valid tool to overcome the barriers of social isolation and to protect the health of this category of patients. In this paper we present an overview of the Italian network of social and healthcare services for COVID-19 vaccination among patients with mental disorders. Some aspects of medical ethics are discussed in order to share good practices for improving the health of this vulnerable group of people. We then consider the measures implemented by the health system in Italy to deal with the phenomenon of vaccine hesitancy before addressing the issue of autonomy and restricted access to vaccination points. Finally, we illustrate some of the perspectives already adopted by the Italian system, which may be useful to the global scientific community.

ABSTRACT

Staying mobile is the key to ensuring high quality of life for older adults. With the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ability to live and move around independently becomes more critical for the most aging society. While several efforts have been made to invest in mobility solutions to help improve older adults’ mobility, there is still a lack of good practice and guidelines for developing such a niche Information Technology (IT) solution. In this paper, we report our experience of using Living Lab, a design science approach, to assess and capture the needs of mobility solutions for older adults. A semi-structured interview involving 25 older adults was conducted. We identified interesting and practical requirements/functionalities from the participants that might be otherwise overlooked if we followed the traditional software development process. The participants provided valuable feedback to help improve our mobility solution in two main areas, mainly the design and functionality of the application. The findings from this case study can potentially be applied for future work that attempts to address similar problems in the same domain. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ABSTRACT

Engagement in sustainable mobility planning seems to act as a starting point to unlock a new era of responsible and sustainable behaviors. After almost a two-years experience of a global crisis (COVID-19) revealing that the only way out is through jointly walking on the way into sustainability and resilience, engaging people in shifting to sustainable mobility options has become an imperative need. The current paper exploits Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) in building a methodological 5-step framework for evaluating the transferability potentials of good practices (GPs) in citizens’ sensibilization and engagement in sustainable mobility. 10 good practices were selected in order to cover the whole cycle of sustainable mobility planning (SUMP cycle) while representatives from different EU Regions were involved in the assessment procedure resulting in this way in a general transferability guide. The guide, tailored to each case, can be a very useful tool in the hands of single authorities while making their mobility engagement plan. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ABSTRACT

Focused on the field of hypermedia journalism due to its possibilities of monitoring through teleworking, and because of the emphasis that the country is placing on the increasing use of ICTs, a team of researchers with diverse profiles, with representation in all regions of Cuba, identified 35 experiences of hypermedia journalism published in the Cuban public media until June 5th, 2020. From this sample, 20 proposals were selected using the nominal group technique in virtual variant, to which a more detailed analysis was carried out, based on 13 criteria identified among the international recommendations for dealing with the pandemic in the press. Both the analysis of the sample, as well as a discussion forum held with journalists from all over the archipelago from the publication of the report resulting from this research, yielded interesting guidelines about the positive communicative practices detected, potentially applicable in the productive dynamics of Cuban public media. © 2022, Centro Nacional de Informacion de Ciencias Medicas. ABSTRACT

The objective of this study is to identify the major strategy used by Peruvian Mypes entrepreneurs in the hardware sector, these being discounts/offers and alliances with other companies;Likewise, through a quantitative study, it was found that the study population considers that the two most influential media for advertising are brochures and radio, the internet being the least used. In the same way, it was found that more than 50% have not managed to position themselves in the market due to the little practice of digital marketing strategies, for this reason their survival is at risk. It is concluded that the impact of the pandemic has been shocking, which is why the implementation of good practices of digital marketing strategies is suggested in order to optimize business performance. © 2022 ACM.

ABSTRACT

Affluence in museums has gone through a substantial decrease worldwide over the years, recently also because of the COVID-19 pandemic social distancing policy. Many museums faced the issue proposing digital approaches, to make the collections more appealing and accessible;virtual, augmented and mixed reality (overall named XR) have shown to be a valuable support for this goal. In the current paper, we initially present a selection of success cases, then proceed proposing a set of guidelines for the exploitation of XR technologies in museums. Based on good practices coming from the user centered design of XR experiences, as well as museum project design and management, we propose an easy and standardized approach to the task. © 2021 IEEE

ABSTRACT

Following the publication of the report on Public Administrations' Digital Response to COVID-19 in the European Union, this paper aims at showcasing good practices regarding the development and/or the implementation of digital solutions by public administrations to avoid the disruption of public services during the first wave of the COVID-19 crisis, looking at the period from March to June 2020. The paper explores the factors enabling the continuation of public services in this timeframe thanks to the development and/or implementation of digital solutions. A three-pronged data collection was adopted: desk research, a survey sent to national representatives of EU Member States, and three country-specific case studies. Results show that many EU public administrations have demonstrated their resilience and ability to adapt in times of crisis thanks to digitalisation. Supported by political and hierarchical leadership, public administrations leveraged in-house digital skills and cross-administration collaboration and harnessed pre-existing interoperability efforts to implement digital solutions in short timespans. © 2021 ACM.

ABSTRACT

The objectives of this study are to identify the factors that influence the management of the organic agriculture ecosystem duriPng the Covid-19 pandemic, to know some good practices, and to determine the characteristics of the Internal Control System (ICS). The methodology used was a systematic, descriptive review of secondary sources of information. The results show a high interest in promoting ecoagriculture in the public and private context in response to the current food shortages arising from the limitations of various kinds caused by the pandemic. The conclusions shows that the management of ecosystems was affected due to the pandemic, the difficulties in having trained personnel to rotate crops and offer the products in the market, due to the sanitary restrictions arisen. In addition, the producers presented their perception indicating that the measures taken should have been implemented long ago and not due to the sanitary crisis, they promote that the regulations continue in the long term due to the decrease in CO2 levels. © 2022, Universidad del Zulia.
